Mr. Shah leads strategy, engagement planning and execution.
An acknowledged expert in the tourism sector, Shah has wide strategy and execution expertise garnered from a career spanning over 36 years in the tourism sector.
Shah began his career with Uttar Pradesh Tourism in 1972 and was General Manager, Tourism at GMVN (Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam) before joining Shrine Tours and Travels as Managing Director. As General Manager at GMVN, Shah headed all tourism-related initiatives of the State Government for GMVN in Garhwal including marketing and property development. Shah has special knowledge and experience in designing and marketing Char Dham packages across the country.
His in-depth knowledge of Uttarkhand and insights into tourists’ needs and psyche has helped Shah introduce several firsts in the Uttarakhand tourism sector:
- 1980: Instituted a separate division for adventure tourism
- 1982: Introduced luxury bus travel for tourists
- 1985: Established Auli Ski Resort
- 1985: Began rafting camp at Kaudiyala, Rishikesh
- 1992: Started bird-watching and water sport at Asan Barrage, Dehradun
At present, Shah is presently the Vice President of the Winter Games Federation of Uttarakhand and Secretary of the Ice Skating Association of Uttarakhand.
Abhimanyu Patwal
Mr. Patwal leads execution of leisure & adventure travel packages and customized tour itineraries.
Abhimanyu has over ten years’ rich experience in designing and executing travel packages for varied clientele. An avid mountaineer and adventure sports enthusiast, he has phenomenal knowledge of remote and far-flung reaches of Uttarakhand.
Abhimanyu began his career with SITA Travels (presently Sita KUONI) and went on to start his own agency based in New Delhi specializing in exclusive adventure and corporate travel packages. He is presently the Treasurer for the Ice Skating Association of Uttarakhand
Abhimanyu has special expertise in conducting and coordinating varied travel itineraries and fulfilling and exceeding client expectations. His interest in the traditional lore of Uttarakhand combined with his knowledge of the ancient beliefs and practices makes him ideal in developing tour itineraries that bring alive an Uttarakhand seldom seen. |
